So I finally caved in. I got a digital camera, the Nikon D200... and an MB-200 to go with it. So far I have to say that I agree with the reviews in that the start up time and the release time after a full press are indeed what they say they are. Quick, sharp, an added benefit is that its significantly lighter then my F6, but unlike the F6 the MB attachment isn't as function and actually more cumbersome then anything else. Its nice to have the extra power options but I was hoping for more from it. In other news, I added a tripod (Manfrotto) and a new bag to the list of equipment I have. The bag is a little too segmented at the moment (who would ever think that a photographer could be happy with only one lens?) but I'll fix that in a bit. The Manfrotto is super sturdy and now acts like an impromptu C-stand for my SB-800. Since the D200 allows the commander flash feature I've been using the pop up flash as a soft fill and the 800 as a key light off to the side and results so far are making me wish for studio lights. Little by little I'm seeing how much I can really control the light now instead of relying only on ambient. These next few days are going to prove to be very interesting.
